Arts Are the Heart is having additional events on the following Fridays: June 16th, July 21st and August 18th. FVA members are welcome to demonstrate their work and put out some pieces for sale.
This year the ArtWalk is Saturday, July 15th. The board voted to rent a tent again for FVA members. Angela is going to open sign-up for members soon.
Angela shared what she has learned about how to approach galleries.
— First check out the gallery to see if your work would be a fit with the gallery.
— Never expect an impromptu appointment.
— Sometimes galleries expect a submission through their website, some like to schedule appointments with the artist.
— It is best to ask how a gallery reviews submissions from new artists.
November FVA Happenings:
Join us at the next FVA Meeting, December 21
At the last meeting we discussed:
– Our new Art Around Town exhibit space, the Edward Jones office on Adelaide at Mill in downtown Fenton. Many thanks to Lee Napier for graciously hosting Fenton Visual Artists exhibits at his location! Thanks also to Angela Hamilton for managing the exhibit. The artwork will be changed out every 2 months. Here are a few of the selections:
– We also will have an exhibit at The State Bank’s main branch, S. Leroy at Silver Lake Rd., December 12 – 30. Thank you State Bank!
– There is so much original art for sale in Downtown Fenton! Between the above two locations, plus the Art Around Town exhibit at the Fenton House Restaurant, S. Leroy St. at Shiawassee, there are over 50 pieces to see and even buy for the art lover on your holiday gift shopping list!
– Live Models are a go! for Open Studio! Beginning in January, every 3rd Wednesday we will have a live model pose (clothed) for artists to draw and paint, thanks to a grant awarded to SLPR. Bring your art materials and join in the fun! 10am – 3:30pm, with the monthly FVA meeting at 3:30.
Everyone is welcome.
